Survey answers

The survey is for adults aged 18 and over. It does not ask for your name, email address, exact location or free-text personal details. Your answers are sent to our server when you press Submit answers.

The survey asks for your gender and whether you are currently in a couple. You can select “Prefer not to say” for either question. The server adds your choices to totals grouped by those two answers. This lets us compare, for example, female and male participants who are in a couple or not in a couple. It does not keep an individual answer set. We do not attach account details, IP addresses or contact messages to survey totals.

A hash of a random submission reference is stored separately to prevent a retry from being counted twice. It contains no answers, response group or contact details. We retain aggregate totals and these references for research and to keep counts consistent.

You may skip optional questions or leave before submitting. Once your answers have been added to totals, we cannot identify or remove them individually.

Analytics and cookies

We count page views, survey-button clicks, survey starts, progress steps, submission attempts, errors and confirmed completions in our own database. These counters operate independently of optional Google Analytics. We retain only daily totals by page, event type and a recognised ad label (m1, m2, r1 or r2), or direct / unlabelled. They contain no answers, gender, relationship status, contact details, IP addresses or persistent visitor identifiers. We do not build individual browsing histories or join these counters to survey answers or prize records.

A temporary ad label in browser session storage preserves attribution when you move between pages for up to 30 minutes. It is not a personal identifier and contains no answers. Each event uses an independent random reference to prevent network retries being counted twice. Only its hash and expiry are retained separately; expired references are removed during later counter activity, starting after 48 hours. The reference has no stored link to an event, page or ad source. We measure the Home, About and Privacy pages only; contact forms, prize forms and owner pages are excluded. We do not store individual advertising click identifiers or send survey answers to advertising platforms.

Google Analytics is on by default unless you previously turned it off or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can turn it off at any time. It measures visits, survey starts and successful completions using a pseudonymous browser identifier and analytics cookies. Google also receives technical connection information to provide the service. We send fixed page names and paths, without URL queries or fragments, and only a recognised ad label (m1, m2, r1 or r2). We do not send survey answers, gender, couple status, contact details, prize tickets or claim codes. Automatic form tracking, Google signals and advertising personalisation are disabled. Contact forms, prize forms and owner pages are not measured. Select Turn off analytics in the notice or open Analytics preferences in the footer to stop further Google Analytics collection. You can still use the survey. Your choice is saved in this browser and applies on later visits; an existing opt-out remains off. If your browser cannot save the preference, the notice explains that the choice applies to the current page only. Turning analytics off does not reload the page or remove answers you are entering. You can turn analytics on again through the same control. Analytics cookies expire after 60 days. Google may process analytics data outside Australia. There are no advertising pixels on this website. The survey does not use browser storage to retain your answers. Hosting and security services may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, including IP addresses, request URLs and operational logs. Those services may also use essential cookies. The site is hosted through ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure.

Optional prize draw

If a draw is open, you can enter separately after the survey. The prize form asks for your state or territory of residence. It does not ask for your name, gender, relationship status or survey answers. You receive a random entry number and a private claim code. Save your ticket: a lost code cannot be recovered.

South Australia and Victoria only: prize entrants must provide an email for written winner notification. The form displays the email fields only for these two states. We encrypt the email in a separate prize contact table. A keyed email hash prevents duplicate entries using the same email. These prize entries are contactable; survey answers remain anonymous. We use the email only to administer the draw and contact a winner, not for marketing. Entrants from other states and territories provide no email and must return to check their anonymous ticket.

The prize entry table stores the state of residence, random entry number, hashed entry invitation, hashed claim code and entry time. It contains no individual survey answers or survey receipt reference. Each invitation issues one entry. One entry per person is a condition of entry; the system cannot verify identity or detect all repeat submissions. Temporary keyed connection hashes limit repeated attempts without storing raw IP addresses in the prize database.

Only the winning ticket holder supplies a delivery name, address and delivery contact email through the private claim form. Public results contain a random entry number, not personal details. Only the site owner can view the winner contact and prepare the written notice. Sending the email is a separate owner action, recorded with a time and sending reference. Prize notification emails are processed by the email providers used to send and receive them.

Ticket, terms and draw records are retained for at least five years after the final draw or delivery, whichever is later. Entry emails are removed during routine maintenance 90 days after the promotion is finalised. Winner contact and delivery details are removed during routine maintenance once 90 days have passed after confirmed delivery. The operator retains the required notification record and manages any copies in their email account. Maintenance runs when the prize page or owner controls are used; the owner can also run it directly. Contact us about corrections or privacy requests, quoting your entry number without sharing your private code.

Contact enquiries

The separate contact form collects your reply email address, selected topic and message. These are stored in a private inbox accessible to the site owner, with a receipt reference, time and message status. They are not linked to survey answers.

An email alert containing the enquiry reference, topic and received time is sent to the site operator. Your message and reply address remain in the private inbox.

We use contact details to handle your enquiry. Avoid putting sensitive personal information or your survey answers in a message. To limit spam, the form uses a signed challenge and temporary keyed hashes derived from a connection address. The contact database does not store the raw address. Expired rate-limit records are cleared during later submissions.

Contact enquiries are retained to handle the enquiry and any follow-up. You can request access, correction or deletion through the contact form, quoting the message reference if you have it. We may need to verify that the request relates to your own enquiry.

Use and access

Connection Study is operated by 656 667 677 Pty Ltd (ACN 656 667 677).

We use the research totals to assess demand and priorities for a possible service. We do not sell individual survey responses or contact details. Hosting providers process data to operate the site and may process it outside Australia.

Survey totals and the contact inbox are not publicly available. No website can promise complete security or anonymity from all network and hosting records.
